KUTARAGI NOW THE STEP FATHER OF PS!
Ken Kutaragi – the father of Sony’s Playstation has been promoted as the Chairman of S
ony Computer Entertainment Incorporated (SCEI). Kutaragi (who earlier held the position of CEO & President of SCEI), will now no longer look after the day-to-day operations of the company, even though he retains the post of the CEO. He will be replaced by Kaz Hirai who was earlier the President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. Though, some industry analysts have a view that this restructuring at the top of the of management of SCEI has been done to prepare Kutaragi to gradually replace Howard Stringer, Chairman & CEO, Sony Corporation of America, while others are of the view that this change is the result of the problems faced by Sony’s PS3.
