BRAND : Nike
BASELINE : Just do it
DESCRIPTION: The superstars of the sporty world are practicing their respective games. There’s Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Wayne Rooney, Ronaldinho, Kobe Bryant among many other soccer champs, weight lifters, karate champions, et al. They are shown practicing hard, trying to perfect their shots or strokes, sweating hard… Nothing can hold them back from being sportsmen. The ad closes with ‘Just do it.’
4Ps TAKE: In sports, as much in life, practice makes perfect – and Nike is actively cashing in on it. The single-minded focus is to reach the target audience (the youth) through the active and strong visuals. The clinching benefit to the brand is its age-old ‘sporty’ association. The USP is, no doubt, the Nike tagline - ‘Just do it’ - the one that pulls no punches, just delivers it straight on! Leading the sports-gear bandwagon globally and with the who’s who of the sports world in this ad, Nike seems to be just doing it comfortably!
