Another Mr. Dependable crashes out!

Karnataka is very likely to experience heightened political turbulence
Just six months prior to the scheduled relinquishing of command to the deputy Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, the Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy received a jolt. And why not, for the CM's party colleague & state Home Minister M. P. Prakash has announced his retirement from electoral politics. A die-hard socialist, Prakash has moulded himself in the cast of late Gopala Gowda and Ramkrishna Hegde. The 66- year-old soft -spoken leader, oft en called as the ‘intellectual politician’ of the state, says, "I am aged. I have decided to retire from poll politics. This decision should have come long ago." But the Janata Dal – Secular (JDS) spokesperson Y. S. V. Datta, while talking to B&E, had a different tune to sing, "Prakash has not retired from active politics. He has said goodbye only to electoral politics. His son, M. P. Ravi, will follow his father’s footsteps in his constituency Hoovinahadagali. Prakash will actively involve in party development with Deve Gowda."
