Promises Swapan Dutta, Regional Manager, Pepe Jeans, “We are launching apparels for kids above 6 years of age in the Spring-Summer collection 2007.” Though India has seen the entry of many foreign companies in many industries, what has always been questioned has been the profitability factor. With almost none of the foreign car companies, cola firms or even south Asian consumer durable giants making profits in India, the bottom line truly would be: Can clothing finally provide the promised land? Well, the answer is... oops, I just ran out of in kin my Cartier pen... and the refill costs around Rs.4,000! Do I, don’t I? Hmm...!
